Doctors No Longer Accepting Medicare Patients in North Carolina

Steve Daniels of WTVD, an ABC affiliate in Raleigh-Durham, conducted an investigation into declining access to care for Medicare patients, due to the program’s declining fees. Daniels found that 50 percent of area doctors refused to accept new Medicare patients. Because the Affordable Care Act cuts more than 6 billion from the Medicare program, this problem is likely to get worse.
